Soysauce stewed Pork Hock

  • 2-3 cups of soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 5 cups of cooking wine
  • 1 star anise
  • 1-2 bay leaves
  • 6-8 pork hocks
  • 3-5 cloves of garlic
  • 2-3 slice of ginger
  • 1 tbsp of oil
  1. Place pork hocks in boiling water, boil for 15 minutes  or until the water becomes cloudy.
  2. Rinse pork hocks in cold water until cooled.
  3. In the pot, fry ginger and garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add pork hocks, soy sauce, sugar, star anise, bay leafs. Cover with lid, cook for 15 minutes.
  5. When all pork hock have darkened, add cooking wine.
  6. Turn to low heat, cover with lid, cook for additional 1 hour.
