This is my take on the home style classic.

  • 2 Lbs Ground Turkey ($ 6)
  • 1 cup cooked rice (prox. $o.5)
  • 1 cup dry oatmeal (prox. $ 1)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (prox. $ 1)
  • 3 or more eggs ($1)
  • 1 can tomato sauce ($0.89)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (chopped) (prox.$ o.2)
  • half of a medium onion (finely chopped) (prox. $ o.4)
  • a handful of cilantro and basil (chopped) ( prox. $ o.5)
  • A splash of olive oil ( prox. $ o.3)
  • salt and pepper (prox. $0.3)
  • ketchup (prox. $ o.4)

Total $ 12.49 for four~ five

  1. Soft boil one or more of the eggs, peel and set aside.
  2. Sautee the garlic, and onion in a little olive oil until slightly brown.
  3. Add tomato sauce and herbs and stir until blended. Add salt and pepper as desired.
  4. In a large mixing bowl mix turkey, rice, oatmeal, bread crumbs, 2 eggs, tomato sauce and extra salt an pepper if desired. The resulting mixture should be relatively firm, but quite moist. If too dry, add more liquid (e.g. ketchup). If too wet, add more bread crumbs.
  5. Add a thin layer of meat to the bottom of a baking pan. Place soft boiled egg(s) and cover with remaining meat.
  6. Top will a little more ketchup and bake at 350° for about an hour.
  7. When meatloaf is done, you can serve it straight up, on a sandwich, or even as a pizza topping.

  4. 大碗中. 雞攪肉. 飯. 即食燕麥片. 麵包粉. 2顆蛋. 和鍋中的醬汁全混合
  5. 深烤盤中.抹油. 先倒一層肉在裡面. 放上水煮蛋. 然後把剩的肉蓋上.
  6. 上面澆一些蕃茄醬. 烤 190度. 約1 小時.
  7. 另可以做成三明治啦. 義大利麵啦. 批薩上啦.

This is my aunt’s easy recipe. It is also a wonderful party finger food.

  • 1 box of egg tofu
  • some cilantro leafs
  • 2-3 salty egg yolks
  1. cut egg tofu into small pieces and fry them in a pan
  2. put cilantro leafs on top of tofu
  3. cut egg yolks into small pieces and place them on the very top of the tofu.

Serve proudly.

I knitted and designed this vest myself. I will try again in this winter. It took me about 2 weeks on and off. I am very proud of my first try. Hopefully, it won’t fall apart while I am wearing it. It it only cost around $8 dollars for the treads

I went to visit Ikea in Kaohsiung last week because I was curious if there were any differences between it and the ones in the US.
Most of the products are the same but the restaurants offer different foods.
In Taiwan, they offer steaks and curry but no lingonberry juice :(

The most surprising thing to me was the meal cart. I can’t believe they have a shopping cart for plates.
It is such a great idea.

People have been asking my how I get my food photos to look good.
Here’s what I usually do. This is a slightly modified version of this tutorial on UnfocusedBrain via Lifehacker – just a simple color match
1. The first step is to make the best of your camera. Take a bunch of pictures and pick the best one later (assuming you are using a digital camera)

2. Find a suitable photo to match with online (I use Google Images and Google Image Ripper. For example, in this case, I searched for “potato salad.” I usually choose a picture with similar colors but better. Here’s the one I chose

3. Open Photoshop. (I’ve noticed older versions don’t have this function) Open both your picture and the one you downloaded. Make sure yours is selected.
4. Go to image –> adjustments–> match color–> Source (at the bottom)–> select the file name of the downloaded picture.
5. Play around with the level of Fade, Color Intensity and Luminance until you like the results. Here are my results:

最近有滿多網友問我.是不是我有很好的照像機.因為我的食物相片滿好看的.
其實我沒有.我只有一個快8年多的數位相機.是我婆不要的.
畫像質非常低.所以所有的相片都還要再經過處理.
我想借機介紹一下我怎麼處理的.這是我在 lifehacker 看到的.

1.盡量將原本的照片照到最好.
2.到Google圖片.找一張類似的照片.如:是義大利麵.我就會搜尋義大利麵的照片.我會挑顏色最鮮艷漂亮的照片.然後下載下來.
3.將自己的相片.跟下載的相片在Photoshop打開(我有注意到.舊版得沒有這一功能)要注意.自己的相片要是被點選的那一個.
4.到Photoshop的.圖片 (image)->調整 (adjustments)->符合色彩 (match color)->來源(視窗下方)(source)->點選你下載的照片.
5.然後依喜好調整上方的功能 (Fade, Color Intensity and Luminance).(註.一般都要調滿多.不然照片顏色會很奇怪)

(*因我沒有中文版的Photoshop. 所以部驟4.是英翻中得來的.如果找不到.試試看讀英文的講解.可能會幫你知到怎麼做)

In about a week, I am going to travel home to Taiwan.
I decided I wanted a passport cover that could also hold other documents.

But I’m cheap, so I made it myself. I bought 1/2 yard fabric, some crochet thread, some canvas needles (10 pt.) and two cute buttons.
It took about an hour to put each one together. It will depend on your needle skills. The total cost is about $1.50 each.
I used the same idea and made a cover for my notebook as well.

忽然想要一個護照套好裝證件. 不然拿一本護照沒套.怕一些有的沒有的表格會遺失. 所以我就去買了兩塊布. 一綑粗線.一根粗針. 兩顆可愛的扣子.
心中想好藍圖. 全用手縫. 每個約60分鐘. 約1.5美元
我也用一樣的方式做了筆記本套.


This pizza is so good, it’s just freaking good.
I used a pesto sauce – you can find my recipe here: (I added a tsp of paprika for variety)
This is pizza dough from a bread machine, but store bought dough will work just fine.

Ingredients:

  • 1 serving of pizza dough
  • 3 tbsp pesto sauce
  • 3 tbsp ricotta cheese
  •  4 oz. boneless chicken
  • 2 artichoke hearts

Grease a small iron skillet. Add a little cornmeal at the bottom if you have it.
Spread your dough all the way across the bottom of the pan. Make sure the sides of the dough touch the sides of the skillet. Baste with olive oil and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.
Bake at 325°F for 10 minutes or until you see a little color.

Season and sautee chicken until fully cooked. Let rest for a couple minutes and cut into small pieces. Also cut artichoke hearts into small pieces.

Remove dough from oven and add toppings. My order is Ricotta Cheese, pesto, chicken, and artichoke hearts.

Place back in oven and bake at 400°F until crust finishes browning.

Remove and open a pizza joint. Call it Spanky’s Personal Pizzas.

披薩好好吃. 超級好吃
不用傳統的蕃茄醬. 我用九層塔醬. 九層塔醬的做法如: 連接

麵團是一般的麵包麵團.我們有麵包機. 所以是自己做的.

食材: 披薩麵團.3大匙九層塔醬. 4大匙起司條. 1杯醃過雞肉. 2-3 朝鮮薊

將披薩麵團鋪平. 放在烤盤上. 刷上些橄欖油. 如喜歡可加一些芝麻. 進烤箱烤190度. 烤10分鐘. 或等到麵團變一點點咖啡色.

將雞肉煎熟.切成小塊. 朝鮮薊也切小.

將九層塔醬塗抹在披薩麵團. 在加起司.朝鮮薊及雞肉

再烤200度. 直到整個披薩麵團熟.

不要叫達美樂了. 這個好吃多了.
