Pound cake

- 2 sticks of butter
- 1/2 of vegetable oil
- 2 cups of sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 cups of all purpose flour
- 1 cup of milk
- some salt
- some vanilla extract
- some baking powder
- Separate egg white and yolks.
- In a large metal bowl, beat egg white until fluffy.
- In another mixing bowl, mix all together ingredients together.
- Fold egg white carefully in to the flour mixture.
- Pour mixture into a greased and floured loaf pan.
- Bake 350 F for 1hr or until the fork come out of the center of the cake clean.
Top with whipped cream, fresh strawberries and chocolate sauce for added flavor.
Steak

- 1-2 slice of fine New York Strip Steaks
- some salt and pepper
- some oil
- Preheat oven for 425F.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper on both side of the steak.
- Add oil to a pan. Place steak in the pan when oil is hot.
- Fry steak about 30 sec. each side on high heat.
- Transfer steak into oven.
- Bake until the center of the steak is 135F for medium.
- When cooked, allow steak to sit for 5 minutes before cutting.

Rice Ball

Rice Ball is a tradition food item which you can find in food cart on the street in Taiwan during breakfast hours.
It is a hardy, healthy and delicious choice for breakfast.
- 1 -1.5 cup of cooked short grain rice
- 2 tbsp of chopped scallion
- 2-3 tbsp of shredded pork
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp of dry Daikon (optional; you can find this in Asian super market dry goods area)
- 1 sliced of sushi seaweed
- 2 tbsp of Crispy oriental noodle (Use in salad sometimes )
- some black sesame
- 1 piece of Plastic wrap (around 6X6)
- Fry the egg.
- Flatten warm rice on plastic wrap.
- Place seaweed first than egg, pork, scallion, noodle finally dry diakon in the center of the rice. Make sure the rice is bigger than all other ingredients.
- Both hands hold the plastic wrap. Fold the rice towards center until rice close together. Continue to squeeze and fold the rice until the rice is in a ball shape.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the rice.
- Enjoy your rice ball.
Okra Salad

- 3 cups of Okras
- 2 cups of Tofu
- 1 tbsp of chopped Cilantro
- 2-3 tbsp of soy paste
- some sriracha chili sauce
- 2-3 tbsp of katsuobushi (dry fish flakes)
- Clean and cut okras in half.
- Boil okras in water for 5 minutes.
- Rinse okras in cold water.
- Cut tofu into bit size.
- Place okra and tofu in plate.
- Top with cilantro and katsuobushi.
- Drizzle soy pasta and sriracha on top.
Drinks at Vienna

I forgot what this restaurant called. We found it in a small court yard in Vienna.
The restaurant is fair in price and offer lots of local fresh seasonal dishes.
Here, we have lots of local beers and drinks.

Naan Sandwich

This is a fun version of my sandwich. Easy, fast, delicious and fun.
- 1 piece of frozen naan
- 2 tbsp of hummus
- 1 tbsp of chopped green scallion
- some roast beef
- Bake naan at 375 degree oven for 5 minutes or until the bread softened.
- Spread hummus on naan.
- Sprinkle scallion.
- Finally place roast beef on top.
- Bake the sandwich for additional 10 minutes.
Roast Artichoke

Roasted Artichoke. Easy, healthy and delicious choice.
- 1-2 Whole Artichoke
- 1/4 cup of chicken or vegetable stock
- pepper
- 1 tbsp of olive oil
- foil
- Wash the artichoke.
- In a baking dish, mix pepper, stock and oil together.
- Place artichoke in the baking dish. Rotate the artichoke in the mixture for 360 degree.
- Cover with foil.
- Bake in 375 degree oven for 45 minutes.
- Peel each leaf off and enjoy the bottom tip of the artichoke until reaching the heart.
- When reach the heart, cut heart in half. Cut off the hair in the center.
- Dip the heart in broth. And Enjoy!
healthy meal

I love my recent discovery of new dish.
A friend of my made a variation of this dish for me when I was over at their house for dinner.
It is a quick and easy meal. Full with nutrition and extremely delicious.
- Some corn (can or on the cob)
- Some tomatoes
- Some lettuce, spinach, and/ or kale
- Leeks
- Onions
- Salt and pepper
- Chicken or Vegetable stock
- Cooked rice
- Some Chicken breast (if you want some meat)
- Oil
- Wash all vegetables carefully. Slice leeks, onions and tomatoes.
- Steam the corn if it is still on the cob.
- If desired, sprinkle seasoning and oil on chicken. Bake in 400 degree oven for 40 minutes.
- In a pan, saute leeks and onions in oil until fragrant.
- Add chicken stock or vegetable stock, and kale.
- Cover with lid, cook for 10 – 15 minutes.
- In a serving plate, place lettuce, spinach on the bottom.
- Add tomatoes, corn on top.
- Pure chicken stock, leek mixture on top.
- Serve with rice and chicken.
