Europe Train meal

This is the train from Berlin to Prague. Most of the people don’t eat on the train, so all these cafes are very presently not crowed.
The waiters are always very nice. The meals are reasonable priced. The taste are much better than airplane meals.

Cheese, Beer, Drinks in Czech

A tiny beer garden in Prague. We ordered the cheese plate. They offered many different cheese that I had never had before.
Some of them is so extremely strong.

An restaurant that is open a since Medieval time.
I am sure the food is different, however, it is very expressive to see a restaurant have been open for so long.
Above is sausage with meat pudding and corn meal. They are very different from anything I had before, but they are delightful.
Plachutta in Vienna

Tradition hot pot in Vienna. According to many locals this is a must try.
It is not cheap. Each pot costs around 20 to 25 US dollars. The whole meal costs around 35-40 US dollars for each person.
If you are thinking about sharing, there is additional costs for that person.
Although these pots comes with heavy price tag, but it is extremely delicious.
I think it is worthy to try it at least once during your visit.
Cafe Sacher

Tarte is one of the landmark for Vienna. If you visit Vienna, everyone will tell you have to try Tarte.
Cafe Sacher is highly recommended by almost every tour book.
Since we are tourist, I guess we should go visit.
The decoration of the restaurant is extremely fancy. Most of the guest are there for the decor less for the dessert.
The dessert is expensive. The tarte is good. It is rich in flavor but not heavy.
I like the dessert but not sure if I would go again because of the price tag.

Eat (Mushroom) at Vienna

If you visit Vienna during summer. Don’t forget to try their seasonal mushroom.
We ran into this restaurant. When we were ordering, the restaurant suggested their in season mushroom dishes.
We decided to give it a try. Those mushroom dishes ended up are the best food I had in Vienna.
The dish about is just some local mushroom stir fried with egg and bacon. Sooooo delicious.
I don’t remember the name of the restaurant, but this restaurant is right cross the court yard from “Bieradise” http://www.hoppala.net/
Please click on “READ MORE” for more mushroom dishes.
Brisket Montreal

Before we went to Montreal, friend of ours already told us about Montreal Smoke meat.
After we arrived, local news paper and tour book all suggested Brisket Montreal restaurant to try their well known smoke meat. Therefore, we were there.
We thought it is a great restaurant. No reservation needed. Big portion. Large variety of food.
Above is the famous smoke meat.
Au Pied de Cochon

Au Pied de Cochon, is a French restaurant with specialty of foie gras.
Above is Tarte de foie gras cru au sel. A tart with sliced foie gras on top.
This tart has the perfect amount of foie gras.
Below is Potée du PDC. It is a pot of slow cooked various meat.
All ingredients are perfectly seasoned and cooked.
Delightful, delightful dish.
However, you should try not to figure out what you are eating.

Montreal Poutine

Hm….Poutine is one of the dish that you have to try when you are in Montreal.
It’s most likely very unhealthy for you, but worthy to try at least couple of times when you are there.
You can see poutine on the menu almost everywhere, but this poutine above is from Montreal Poutine restaurant, located in Old Montreal.
I think the advantage of this restaurant is they offers larger variety of poutine than other restaurant, but I am sure poutine is going to taste just as well anywhere else.
A plain poutine is french fries with cheese and gravy.
We ordered the poutine with some mushroom and onion topping. Hoping to feel more refreshing and less guilty after we have it.
After I had poutine here, I think my next poutine is going to be from a French restaurant.
Because most French restaurant will be fry the fries in duck fat instead of normal oil.
Hm….can you imagine the duck fat fried fries? I heard it is absolutely delightful.
Stash Cafe in Montreal

Stash Cafe is a nice, small Polish restaurant located in the center of Old Montreal.
The restaurant seat about 50 people total, so make sure you make your reservation.
There are only 3 different pre fixes for you to choose from.
Either the tradition Polish sample plate, duck or wild boar.
The picture on top is the wild boar.
This is the first time I have cabbage cooked in beet juice.
It is quite tasty.
