I made this peanut sugar bun a while ago. This is a great breakfast item.

Dough

  • 2 cups of  whole wheat flour

  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • Hot water

Filling

  • 1 cup of peanut powder
  • 1 cup of black and white sesame power

  1. Mix dough – dry ingredients together, and slowly add hot water into the flour.
  2. First use mixer to blend the flour together. When the dough is not as hot anymore, mix the dough by hand until it does not stick on the hand. Make sure the dough does not have lumps and the surface is smooth.
  3. Cover with cloth and place the dough in a warm place to rise for 1 hour.
  4. Cut the dough into golf ball sizes. Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough.
  5. Mix all filing ingredients and place the filling in the middle of the dough.
  6. Fold the edge of the dough to the center.
  7. Place couple of raisins on top of the bun as desired.
  8. Allow the buns to rise for additional 1 hour.
  9. Steam the buns for 30 minutes.
